Description

[Ike Fridge]. History of the Chisum War or Life of Ike Fridge. Stirring Events of Cowboy Life on the Frontier as Told to Jodie D. Smith. Electra, Texas: Jodie B. Smith, [1927]. First edition. Octavo. [ii], 70 pages. With two inserted plates, including a portrait frontispiece, and in-text illustrations. Original stiff printed wrappers, all edges trimmed. Housed in a custom quarter crushed morocco over marbled boards clamshell, spine lettered in gilt.

Once believed "unprocurable," Ramon Adams acquired the few last remainders of the small print run and scattered them amongst fellow collectors and dealers. He writes, "it is still considered comparatively rare and the remainder is now exhausted."

Condition: Wrappers a bit toned, some wear and chipping to spine, other minor edgewear. Internally clean. Near fine.
