Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver.

Serial no. 176810 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt, wedge not removed], .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Top of barrel one-line reads -ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA- Originally blued and case-hardened finish. COLTS / PATENT stamped to left side of frame. J stamping on triggerguard front of trigger. Brass triggerguard, frontstrap and backstrap. "3" stamp on heel on top of screw and serial number. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Gun was manufactured in 1864; This navy is a late fourth model example according to records.

Condition: Good, retaining approximately 5-10% finish with balance turned dark black/brown color; spotting and mottled patina present. Scene present but hardly visible. Grips good with some varnish, bumps and bruising present with scuffs and dings. Marred screws. Loading lever repaired, latch replaced. Wedge / screw replaced.
