Description
Studded European Rapier.Approximately 47-inches overall with a 38-inch straight blade, pierced 8-inch single fuller, with armorers mark present near ricasso on both sides of blade. Sword is 3/4-inches at its widest. Iron studded hilt with straight quillons with branch. Wire-wrapped handle. Ovoid pommel with button. Handle possibly Victorian.
Note: Previously sold in a Little Johns Auction as lot 301, October 2011 [auction tag included].
Condition: Good with age wear and pitting throughout blade. Showing an overall mottled gray patina on blade and hilt. Fine scratches present to metal. Crude metal and some pitting inside hilt.
