Description

John Adams and George Washington: Ceramic Pudding Mold. We've never seen one of these before and it is not likely you have, either! No doubt produced on special order from Liverpool, it is a gelatin or pudding mold. The client must have been James Bryden, the owner of the "Fountain Inn" which appears on either side. The Great Seal of the United States appears above this, with the inscription: "John Adams, President. General George Washington." Mr. Bryden must have been a staunch New England Federalist! The mold measures 7.5" x 5.75" x 3.25". The design consists of a garland of leaves. There are five hairlines viewable from the interior and there seems to have been some light restoration.
