Description
Albert Einstein Typed Letter Signed "A. Einstein." Albert Einstein is, for many people, the epitome of intelligence and logic. He was a master mathematician, and thinker, who came up with one of the most widely known, or one should say, memorized theorems known to man, aside from the Pythagorean theorem. Nine out of ten people know that E=mc2. Whether or not the implications, or the details, of that theorem are known is not the point. Einstein is a mainstream name, and a man who is recognized for his amazing abilities. He once said, "To punish me for my contempt for authority, fate made me an authority myself."This letter is from the genius himself; typed on one page of his own stationery, it measures 8.5" x 11", and is dated June 14, 1939. The content of the letter pertains to efforts to aid the Nazis' Jewish victims in Europe. Einstein himself had fled from Hitler's persecution. Hitler accused Einstein of inventing "Jewish Physics" as opposed to the proper German physics. Eventually, fearing for his life and his intellectual property, Einstein fled from Europe to the United States in 1933. The letter reads in part, "It must be a source of deep gratification to you to be making so important a contribution toward rescuing our persecuted fellow-Jews from their calamitous peril and leading them toward a better future."
It is then signed by Albert Einstein in bold, black ink. While this letter text has been signed with a stamped "A. Einstein" signature, it comes complete with a full letter of Authenticity from University Archives. The letter itself is in fine condition; expected fold lines, and three small circular holes from being torn out of a binder. Otherwise a fantastic piece of "Einsteinia!" Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
