William Henry Harrison Document Signed. One page, 6.5" x 3.5", Greenville; February 22, 1795. A military document addressed to a quartermaster requesting "five gills of Whiskey for that Barge Crew...to the General..." Harrison had been made aide-de-camp to Major General "Mad Anthony" Wayne in 1793 and served under him at the close of the Northwest Indian War. Signed as aide-de-camp, "Wm. H. Harrison / A.d.C."

In 1791, Harrison received a commission in the First Infantry of the Regular Army. He was an aide-de-camp to General "Mad Anthony" Wayne and fought in the Northwest Indian War, including the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794. Later, in August of 1795, he attended the signing of the Treaty of Greenville which ended the war. In 1840, Harrison was elected as the ninth president of the United States. He was also the first president to die in office, dying on his thirty-second day in office from complications from a cold - the shortest tenure in United States presidential history.
