James Fenimore Cooper Autograph Letter Signed "J. Fenimore Cooper." One page of a bifolium, 5" x 7.75", no place; no date. Addressed to a Mr. Ogden, Esq. of Liverpool. Cooper, an acclaimed 19th century novelist, writes about a stay in Paris and references Congressman Daniel Barnard of New York. The letter reads in part: "This letter will be handed to you by Mr. Barnard of Rochester, and late a member of Congress from our State. Mr Barnard has made a run into Europe of a few months, and is now on his return. Let me recommend him to your good offices. We are all well, and established for a year in Paris..."
Condition: Flattened mail folds with a separation starting at bottom of vertical fold. Light toning throughout. Tape and additional paper reinforcement along left edge. Addressed on verso. Boldly signed.
