Mercury Seven Astronauts: Mercury-Atlas 6 (Friendship 7) Dinner Dance Ticket Signed by Six. Two original, numbered (273 and 274) dinner dance tickets from April 23, 1962, as presented by the Launch Team. This party was thrown in honor of John Glenn's successful orbital mission just two months earlier. The front of one of these foldover tickets has been signed by six of the seven original NASA astronauts, as follows: "A B Shepard Jr", "J H Glenn Jr"; "D K Slayton", "W M Schirra Jr", "Leroy G Cooper Jr", and "M S Carpenter". Note the early forms of the signatures; this is a particularly rare version of Carpenter's signature. The second ticket is signed by an unknown person. The evening's program is presented with typical space humor where the first orbit includes "automatic guidance to the buffet table", and the third orbit is "manual maneuvers - dancing". Includes a COA from autograph dealer Al Wittnebert. Extremely rare. Age and handling related wear.
