Braniff International Airways Boeing 707-327C "Peace on Earth" Framed Presentation Print. A dramatic and historically significant framed presentation print depicting Braniff International Airways Boeing 707-327C, registration N7097, in its distinctive green "Jellybean" livery with red ribbon and bow motif, titled and captioned: "Braniff International Airways Boeing 707-327C N7097 December 1969 Operation Understanding 'Peace on Earth.'" The image captures the aircraft in profile, highlighting the bold BI tail logo and special markings applied for its humanitarian mission. The print is 19.5" x 15.5" (sight size) and framed to an overall 31.5" x 25.5". This artwork commemorates one of the most poignant chapters in Braniff history. Between December 1969 and April 1970, under the sponsorship of Texas businessman H. Ross Perot, Braniff operated three "Operation Understanding" flights to bring international attention to the plight of American POWs held in North Vietnam. N7097 flew the first mission from Dallas Love Field to Vientiane, Laos, on December 21, 1969. The long-range 707-327C carried supplies, gifts, and medical aid, traveling nearly 35,000 miles in 12 days with stops including Los Angeles, Honolulu, Wake Island, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Vientiane, Tokyo, Anchorage, Copenhagen, and New York before returning to Dallas. A first time Heritage offering, very fine.
