Braniff International Airways Boeing 747SP Desk Model, Solid Orange Livery. A rare presentation desk model of the Boeing 747SP (Special Performance), finished in Braniff International Airways' iconic solid orange livery, one of the bold single-color schemes introduced as part of the airline's revolutionary "End of the Plain Plane" branding program. The 747SP, shorter-bodied and long-range, represented a technologically advanced variant of the jumbo jet and briefly served as Braniff's flagship widebody. Produced by Bader Models, the acrylic model measures an overall 10" x 12" x 6.25" and accurately depicts the distinctive shortened fuselage of the 747SP, the classic upper-deck hump, four under-wing engines, and correct tailplane proportions. Fuselage markings include "Braniff International" titles and aircraft identification N603BN, with "BOEING 747SP" stenciled near the rear fuselage. Bader Models of Bahrain were a respected producer of high-quality airline desk models for Middle Eastern and international carriers during the late 20th century, often supplying corporate, VIP, and executive presentation pieces rather than retail items. A rarely seen example, very fine.
