Mercury Seven Astronauts: 1963 Collier Awards Banquet Photo Signed by All. A 10" x 8" glossy B&W photo of the September 28th banquet of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots where every member of the original U.S. astronaut corps received an Ivan C. Kincheloe Award; they can all be seen holding theirs. The photo is signed in various pens (left to right): "D K Slayton", "Gordon Cooper", "Scott Carpenter", "J H Glenn, Jr.", "Gus Grissom", "Wally Schirra", and "Alan B. Shepard Jr". The woman is unidentified; the man between Schirra and Shepard is Drury W. Wood, President of the Society for Experimental Test Pilots at that time. Quite rare and desirable. The signatures that were signed in blue are a bit lacking in contrast and there is a small dent on Slayton, overall very fine.

The Iven C. Kincheloe Award is presented annually by the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP) for outstanding professional accomplishment in flight testing. The "Mercury Seven" astronauts, the first American astronaut group, collectively received this award in 1963 to honor their groundbreaking work in pioneering spaceflight in the United States. Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, John Glenn, Gus Grissom, Walter Schirra, Alan Shepard, and Donald "Deke" Slayton were awarded together at this banquet.
