Yuri Gagarin, Vladimir Komarov, and Three Other Cosmonauts as well as Two Military Heroes: Signatures on the Verso of a 1966-dated Central Committee of Communist Party-Issued Luncheon Invitation. A buff deluxe rounded corner 7.25" x 4.875" cardstock invitation, with embossed state emblem of the USSR at top, inviting K.A. Kurin to a luncheon in honor of the participants of the Soviet space program, signed in various inks on the verso in Cyrillic by the following attendees: Yuri Gargarin (first human in space), Vladimir Komarov (first to fly twice, first to die during space mission), Pavel Belyayev (Voskhod 2 commander), Boris Yegorev (first physician to fly in space), and Konstantin Feoktistov (first engineer-scientist in space). Also signed by two war heroes: Semyon Budyonny (Marshal of the Soviet Union & Hero of the Russian Civil War) and Vasili Chuykov (Commanded the 8th Guards Army, leading the final assault on Berlin in 1945 & Marshal of the Soviet Union). Excellent save for stain near but not affecting signatures.

A tangible relic of the Soviet Union's triumphal mid-1960s space era, representing both the ceremonial recognition of its heroes and the human presence behind the propaganda. Such pieces, particularly signed at the height of the program, hold exceptional value for collectors of Cold War or space memorabilia. From an important collection of Soviet-era Space history
