Reaction Motors, Inc. Liquid-Fuel Rocket Thrust Chamber Assembly and Component Set. An exceptional and historically significant group of liquid-fueled rocket engine hardware manufactured by Reaction Motors, Inc. (RMI), the pioneering American rocket-engine company responsible for the propulsion breakthroughs that led directly to the Bell X-1 and the X-15 programs. This set includes a complete thrust chamber assembly with integrated fuel and oxidizer drain manifolds, bearing its original RMI logo decal, together with multiple machined internal components and nozzle sections showing various stages of Reaction Motors' manufacturing process. The complete thrust chamber assembly with integral propellant manifold block, red-capped "Fuel Drain" and "Ox Drain" ports, and welded injector housing measures approximately 21" x 5". The remaining components (including spiral-cooled chamber liner, cylindrical chamber sleeve, and others) range in size from 16" to 7" in height. This collection presents an exceptionally rare opportunity to own original, engineering-level hardware from Reaction Motors' developmental work, the direct technological foundation of modern spaceflight propulsion. Artifacts with original Reaction Motors markings and decals are seldom encountered; sets showing multiple structural elements are even rarer. Together, they form a comprehensive visual and physical record of how mid-century American rocket engines were conceived, fabricated, and tested. Minor oxidation and handling wear, very fine.
