Andrew Johnson CDV. 2 3/8" x 4" studio portrait of Andrew Johnson with backstamp for E. & H. T. Anthony and Brady's National Portrait Gallery. Corners clipped and rounded; small chip at the top right of the photograph.

Roger Taney CDV. 2 1/2" x 4" studio portrait of Supreme Court Justice Roger Taney, who issued the Dred Scott decision in 1857. With backstamp for E. Anthony. Identified by a period annotation in pencil on the verso: "(1777-1864) Chief Justice Taney, Roger. Held court position 1836-1864. Delivered maj. opinion in Dred Scott Case."

Condition: Good, with some toning, minor foxing, and scattered staining; other minor detractions as noted above.
