Queen Victoria: Signed Consular Appointment and Yard-long Print. One partially printed page (on vellum?), 12" x 15 1/4" (sight); St. James' [London]; April 11, 1866. Matted and framed to an overall size of 20" x 23". The Queen approves the appointment of F. G. Prange to serve as the Vice-Consul at Liverpool to the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg, Frederick Francis II. Boldly signed at the upper left, "Victoria R." With paper seal at upper left. Countersigned by Lord Clarendon at the lower right.

Together with a Yard-long print, "A Drawing Room at St. James's Palace in the Reign of Queen Victoria," engraved by Frederick Stacpoole after a painting by Jerry Barrett. Measures 40 3/4" x 23".

Condition: Not examined out of frame. Document with light toning and creasing at folds; else fine. Print with some wear including light scratches or scuffs; several small chips and short tears at the edges; rough bottom left edge; dampstaining at the lower margin; adhesive sticker and tape remnants on verso.
