Queen Victoria: Signed Consular Appointment and Yard-long Print. One partially printed page (on vellum?), 12" x 15 1/4" (sight); St. James' [London]; April 11, 1866. Matted and framed to an overall size of 20" x 23". The Queen approves the appointment of F. G. Prange to serve as the Vice-Consul at Liverpool to the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg, Frederick Francis II. Boldly signed at the upper left, "
Victoria R." With paper seal at upper left. Countersigned by Lord Clarendon at the lower right.
Together with a Yard-long print, "A Drawing Room at St. James's Palace in the Reign of Queen Victoria," engraved by Frederick Stacpoole after a painting by Jerry Barrett. Measures 40 3/4" x 23".
Condition: Not examined out of frame. Document with light toning and creasing at folds; else fine. Print with some wear including light scratches or scuffs; several small chips and short tears at the edges; rough bottom left edge; dampstaining at the lower margin; adhesive sticker and tape remnants on verso.
