Abraham Lincoln: ABC Mug and Redware Vase. Lot Includes: 1) 3 1/2" soft paste mug featuring portraits of "President Abraham Lincoln" and "Commodore A. H. Foote" on either side. Made during the Civil War period, this is similar in format to the ABC plates that were produced in England with raised letters of the alphabet arrayed around the border, hence the name. Similar mugs were produced for Lincoln alone, Lincoln with other military figures, or military figures solely. 2) A 5" Redware vase featuring Lincoln in a typical ornate Victorian style, circa 1862. A bearded Lincoln appears on each side, with name on streamer below, and patriotic eagle with shield above. A well-known "period" Lincoln piece, listed and illustrated in Ted Hake's 1789-1916 volume, page 58.

Condition: 1) Minor crazing and a some marks. Appears to have some minor restoration. 2) Minor patina and a few marks, but overall a fine example.
