[Abraham Lincoln]: Woodrow Wilson Signed Typescript of The Address of Woodrow Wilson at the Cabin in which Abraham Lincoln was Born. Twelve pages, 5 3/8" x 8 7/8"; [Washington D.C.]; November 1918. In this September 4, 1916 speech, President Wilson reflects on Lincoln's humble origins and on the impenetrable qualities of the great leader's mind and spirit. Although he touched on Lincoln's early years, Woodrow Wilson particularly focused on his own fascination with the darker side of Lincoln's mind: his
"brooding spirit" and his feelings of
"isolation." Signed at conclusion, "
Woodrow Wilson,"
with pencil corrections throughout by Wilson's Secretary, Joseph Tumulty.
Includes the original typed letter on White House stationery by Tumulty to J.E. Boos who sent in the typescript. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
Condition: Typescript is in excellent condition with only minor toning. Letter has minor toning, some creasing, and a few minor marks at upper margin.
