Reads, in full: "One can not read of Lincoln without loving him; one can not think of his struggles of his life and of its tragic end, without weeping. One cannot study his efforts, his conscience, his heroism and his patriotism and the burden of bitter attack and calamny[sic] under which he suffered and think of the place he now occupies in the history of the country without a moral inspiration of the most stirring and intense character."
