Cased Pair of E. Lefaure a Paris Percussion Dueling Pistols with Accessories.

Each pistol is approximately .46 caliber with 9 3/4-inch octagonal blued steel barrels, the top flats signed E LEFAURE A PARIS. Mid-19th century French percussion dueling pistols by E. Lefaure, Paris. Barrels are rifled. The pistols feature finely engraved steel mounts with flowing foliate scrollwork throughout, including the breech areas, trigger guards, and butt caps, along with foliate engraved hammers, the engraving of a lighter, more delicate style rather than deeply cut. Stocks are of select walnut, displaying raised relief carved decoration with floral and scroll motifs along the grips and fore-ends, demonstrating high-quality craftsmanship. The pair is housed in a period fitted wooden case with a brass cartouche on the lid, the interior lined in green velour and compartmentalized for the pistols and accessories. Accessories include a bullet mold, powder flask, loading rod, combination tool, and other period implements, all neatly fitted within their respective compartments. A well-executed and attractive cased dueling set representative of refined French gunmaking of the percussion era.

Condition: Fine. Barrels retain much of their original blue finish with some thinning and scratches. Metal surfaces show light patina and minor handling marks, with engraving remaining sharp. Stocks are very good with strong carved detail and only light handling marks. Case exterior shows expected wear, including scattered scratches and finish loss, while the green velour interior remains in good condition with minor age wear. Accessories show typical wear and patina consistent with age and use. Bores are rifled and show good condition. Actions are crisp.
