Description:
Gemini 4 Training-Used GT-4 Mission Rules Revision 2 Manual Originally from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Pilot Jim McDivitt, Signed and Certified, with COA. Gemini 4 was the second American two-man mission during which Ed White II performed a landmark EVA. This five hole-punched soft cover book, dated May 18, 1965, contains 100+ 8" x 10.5" pages (printed one side only) and is bound with a single staple. It was used by McDivitt in preparation for the flight and contains his handwritten notes. His surname is written on the cover. The purpose of this Manned Spacecraft Center publication, as stated in the introduction: "The prime objective of the mission rules is to identify equipment configuration for mission support and formulate a series of basic ground rules based upon systems analysis and mission planning considerations to provide for the safety of the flight crew, optimize chances for mission success, and provide guidelines to expedite the decision process..." It is signed on the front cover: "Jim McDivitt/ Commander/ Gemini IV". Front cover repaired at staple, signs of use, otherwise fine condition. From the Steven R. Belasco Collection of Space Memorabilia.

Included with this lot is a printed "Jim McDivitt Garage Sale" Certificate of Authenticity from Novaspace stating, in part: "I certify that this item is from the personal collection of James A. McDivitt..."
