Description:
James Madison: Rare Dessert Plate from His Personal Service, Believed to be Used While President. Marked "Nast a Paris" on the underside, this plate was part of a service of Paris porcelain, which, according to Klamkin's White House China was purchased in 1806 when Madison was Secretary of State. It is believed to have been used in the White House following its reconstruction after being burned by the British in 1814. The accumulation of China from the previous three presidencies presumably had been destroyed in the fire. One of the rarest and most valuable styles of White House china, a 12" serving bowl in the same pattern sold for $17,925 in Heritage's March 1, 2008 auction. A beautiful, virtually pristine example, diameter 9.125".

Testimonials:
You gave me several alternatives and explained the pros and cons of each. I concluded that you were someone I could trust and that you would do a good job for me. And you sure did!
