Description:
Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison: Choice Mechanical Chairs. "The Presidential Chair. Who Shall Occupy It?" is the question posed on these mechanical stickpins from 1888 or 1892. The question appears when the seats are latched in the closed position. Once released, the seats pop up to reveal the photo of the candidate headed for the White House. Ironically, both Cleveland and Harrison would occupy the Presidential Chair, but not at the same time! These clever novelties often have defects. This pair is really nice and complete in all respects. They measure 2" tall and are the large size. We are also offering a pair of "small size" chairs in this sale. One size does not fit all!
