Description:
Neil Armstrong: Signed Sheet of "First Man on the Moon" Stamps with Mailing Provenance. Just seven months after his history-making walk on the moon, Armstrong signed this sheet of commemorative stamps in response to a mail request. He had already given the collector his home address saying that he would "...do my best" (see preceding lot). This sheet of thirty-two 10ยข airmail stamps (Scott #C76) has been signed on the wide left selvage: "Neil Armstrong/ Apollo 11" in blue felt tip. A very desirable and displayable piece. Included are the Certified Mail mailing receipt dated February 9, 1970, and a delivery receipt dated February 11, 1970, signed "Mrs. Neil Armstrong". Stamps in excellent condition, still in original glassine.
