Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. The History of the Valorous and Witty Knight Errant, Don Quixote of the Mancha. Written in Spanish by Michael Cervantes: and now Translated into English. London: Edward Blount, 1620. First volume, second edition; second volume, first edition. Two octavo volumes. [22], 572, [4]; [18], 276, 279-504. [2]. Facsimile engraved title page to Volume I, which lacks the full title. Volume II has the full title, but lacks the engraved title. Bound in modern full calf over boards. Raised bands. Gilt lettering to spines. All edges gilt. Inked name of previous owner. Slight dampstaining to Volume I, which is missing some of the gilt to the edges. Ex-library rubberstamp (dated 1830) to first page of the translator's preamble. Closed tear to page 487 of Volume II. Overall a handsome set in very good condition of the complete Don Quixote first appearance in English.
